Turkey, while being a lighter alternative than the preferred 80/20 ground beef combination, does, unfortunately, lack flavor. Turkey, like tofu, needs to have essence and zest infused in order for it to be tasty.
Here’s how:
Brush raw turkey patties on both sides with garlic-flavored olive oil and Worcestshire sauce. Season with kosher salt and freshly-ground pepper. Add your favorite steak rub and a sprinkling of Chipotle Chile Pepper.
Prepare a basting sauce of Worcestshire, melted garlic butter and chopped chives. When patties are browned on one side, flip and baste, then repeat for the other side.
Nothing beats a real ground beef grilled burger, but raising the flavor quotient on your turkey burger will at least get it into the race.
